Making a slightly earlier start to the Indoor season than usual the squad recorded a superb six individual National Indoor qualification standards at Lee Valley Open. 26 athletes competed with most setting new Personal Bests in impressive fashion.
Alexia Martin made a brilliant debut series of runs in the U17 60m Hurdles with a opening effort of 9.90 secs, However, she improved substantially on that in the second round to record 9.79 secs.
Her sister Sophia also ensured her place at the Nationals at Sheffield in February with a 9.93 secs in her first round race, Unfortunately she clashed with a hurdle in the second and as she placed her hands on the hurdle was DQed from that heat.
Laurie Sutcliffe, Finn Hobson (both U17), Monty Gurney and Joe Caesar (U15) all clocked up the required mark for entry to the Nationals as well.
