The final Chiltern League race of the season was held in Milton Keynes at Campbell Park - a great venue for ‘proper’ cross country with all of the hills and mud!
We had 3 first timers to the Chiltern League – Andrew Partridge (vale of Aylesbury) , Annabelle Hilton and Rory Hilton (Chiltern Harriers) , all of whom ran really well, with Rory in the U11 Boys coming 13th overall, and 7th in Bucks.
James Palmer (WSEH AC) showed the County selectors that he had well and truly earned his place in the team with 12th overall, and 5th in Bucks.
Morgan Hanson (WSEH AC) ran her strongest cross country race this season finishing 10th and 4th in Bucks.
Felix Palmer and Joe Clarke have raced twice in 4 days, (as has Rory!) and acquitted themselves really well too on tired legs, contributing to WSEH’s bid to get placings in the team rankings.
For many of the endurance squad the cross country season is over now – other than those representing their County in National Schools, Inter Counties or the Nationals. We shall look forward to warmer weather (hopefully) and the track season!
